On the immediate Horizon

Read Behaviorism + Patterns

  • Woolfolk, A. (2010). Chapter 6: Behavioral Views of Learning. In A. Woolfook (Ed.), Educational psychology (11th ed.). Columbus, OH: Pearson/Allyn & Bacon.
Learning Activity Make a commercial for Behaviorism

One of the big ideas in ed tech is that different media have different affordances. You’ve played with digital photography, now you’re going to work with video.

We want you to “sell” the idea of behaviorism using the genre of a commercial (no longer than a minute). Over the weekend, work through some ideas, and come to class on monday with a script you can shoot and edit.

To get you started, here are some examples of “selling” the tpack idea: Example 1. Example 2.

Also easy to think about and shoot, are some of the older mac commercials, here’s an example (but sell behaviorism, not macs): Example 1, Example 2.

But, of course, these are just examples, the possibilities are endless!

Read Ahead
You probably want to read ahead a bit to manage an uneven workload coming up

Think & DO
  • Continue thinking about how you want your professional presence to look. Start to achieve it!
  • Continue thinking about how to define your research interests. Work on RDP assignment #2.
