My research interest is in the broad area of information literacy and, specifically, the information-seeking behaviors of adolescents and pre-adolescents using digital resources for academic learning. In particular, I am interested in whether the explicit or implicit instruction of information literacy behaviors influences the outcomes of digital information-seeking. My practical goal is to design and deliver instruction that advances students’ effective navigation of the digital information world, and to develop a conceptual framework for thinking about information-seeking processes that will inform the instructional design decisions of classroom teachers.
