What is a Gravatar and how do I set mine up?
What’s a Gravatar?
In this class we want you to create an avatar, or an iconic representation of yourself, or specifically a gravatar (Globally Recognized AVATAR).
In this course, we use your name, email address, and the address of your portfolio in order to display the list of people and portfolios in the course. This makes it easy to find, visit, and provide feedback to classmates on their work.
How do I set up my Gravatar?
Here’s what you need to do:
- Go to our Google Form
- Use the form to indicate how you’d like your name displayed and give us a link to a website you might use in this course as your portfolio. If you don’t have a website yet, leave it blank.
Again, if you do not yet have a website or a portfolio website, that is okay. That’s what we’re going to do in this course.
Checking to see if it works
If you’re in the capstone portfolio course, you can check your Roster Entry on the course roster page (after Module 1)
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Any changes you make on the google form can take 2-3 minutes to show up on your gravatar
- Long names can’t always fit the area we use to display names, try a shorter name that will fit (e.g., ‘M Koehler’ instead of ‘Matthew Koehler’)
- You must be signed into google
