Professional Development Transcript

10

Many educators complete a variety of certifications and training sessions through professional development days or other arenas. There is not always a convenient place to list all of these accomplishments on your resumé, so composing a Professional Development Transcript that lists and describes your additional achievements and qualifications could be a great supplementary document.

Requirements

Just as the Annotated Transcript assignment includes a comprehensive list of classes, instructors, and dates, this Professional Development Transcript should be as detailed as possible. This transcript should also be more than just a list of training days; it should offer a detailed look at these different professional developments and explain the impact they have had on your practice. Some basic requirements are listed below, but feel free to elaborate and arrange the page as you see appropriate.

Each entry in your Professional Development Transcript should include:

  • the title of the training
  • where / why it happened
  • a brief description of what the session included (at least three sentences)
  • a reflection on how this has or has not been useful to your practice
  • when applicable or possible, a link to further resources on the training or an artifact from the session

Relationship to Other Pieces of Flair

Consider how your Professional Development Transcript could support your LinkedIn profile or how you could tie some of the classes on your Professional Development Transcript to resulting changes in your practice that can be described on your “Gallery of Student Work” or “About Me” page.
